engine out
Broken
box off
new box on and engine back in
my new chain block
wheel bearing being changed
2 new yokos
How I left the garage
I took the diff off my new box tried to fit my new hardened diff pin, didn't have a bearing puller so fitted box as standard. Fitted engine back in with new box, also went to cardiff and got a chain block, and got 2 new tyres fitted.
Not bad progress I think. Should be done by lunch tomorrow.

Soldered up a loads of broken wires, new wheel bearings, new ball joints.
Put it all back together and the old balljoints threads stripped. So all of that was sorted, all was well, engine flushed then decent oil put in.
Drove to uni and just coming into bath down a dual 2 wheel studs broke, one wheel nut flew off and the remaning nut loosened stopped no hard shoulder limped home on 2 nuts.
And my amp has blown, won't turn on and stinks.
So I may have a lovely new gearbox but can't drive my car unitl my new studs arrive and got no tunes!
Only got 1 pic as I was in such a rush to get things done:
Pretty much completed
Thanks go to my dad for doing 2 ball joints and wheel bearing and going to fetch bits and pieces.

Not sure what the noise is, although it does make it sound quite beefy!

Does she make the noise starting from 5.5RPM? (All the way to the top)

I kept going once, and it just keeps making the noise.

Bad times, going to have to try re attatch that somehow, it's the speed bumps going into uni today that did it, knocked the screws out a bit, so it was waving around so I ripped it off.

Sounds like valve bounce (the valve springs are to weak to close the valves at high rpm).Kinda, the engine makes suck a loud scary noise i just change gear as it's so bad. SOoo much worse than in the video. I kept going once, and it just keeps making the noise.

now i cant see the vid atm..so u've got a 1275 engine with double springs, have u tried to reset tappets to 15 thou or 12 thou?
Ive got a cooper spi engine, with the injection stuff removed and a hif44.
MG metro cylinder head with double valve springs.
I set the clearances to the factory standard.

Valve clearence for Mg metro head is 15 thou, i'd check the tappets. Then move to the usual electric things..u got leccy ingition?
hmmm, it's a mg metro head but an SPI cam so im not sure what to set the clearances at, probably spi specs.

to be honest id look at the fan belt or the dizzy founds like it either advacing too far and pinking or the fan belts slapping about to me anywho or the engines leaning out at high revs
