Fitted my new exhaust yesterday. You can hardly hear it, all induction noise now, soon sort that out though.

Started engine building again today, crank spins nicely can do it with your finger tips.

As soon as big end caps are tightened it siezes. Bad times, going to have to measure it and maybe re grind it.

Tomorrow, mini is going to have, gaz 32 point adjustable shocks, lowered front brackets, adjustable bottom arms and an MG metro ported head. :P

Raced my mate in his 1.4 16v saxo today and am happy to say that it was completly even, couldn't believe it. SO mg head should give me a bit more.

Still can't get the 1380 to work though

Ok done a little today, ordered a head Gasket set, going to pick it up after 3, ive got my rear dampers on. Also de coked my head, cleaned off all the butamin rubbish off my petrol tank, flooded my boot with petrol and made a big mess. Moved my tank out of the way for the damper and the hose came off, and filled the boot with fuel, emptied the rest of the tank and drilled a hole in the boot floor for it to drain out. Bad times.

I was thinking that but the shells are the same size as the old ones, checked with a micrometer. I recieved the engine in pieces and I think that when the person took it apart they just popped any old cap on the big ends. Im just going to have to take the shells out and put them together and try to match the caps to the rods. I think this is the issue anyway. Ive got all the parts to put it together now aswell.

My mg head is now on but the car runs quite badly, I need a new needle for it as the fueling is quite far out. Doesn't idle but drives quite smoothly, hopefully once it's all tuned nicely I should have a bit more oomph! :)

My diff gave up today while I was turning left, wheel spun in my hands and went straight on into oncoming traffic, slammed on the brakes and managed to get it turning again, drove home the last 100 yards and managed to park, just before a hole developed in the diff and poored out it's oil. Not fun at all.

Ripped out the driveshafts and towed it too my nans house where it will recieve a new gearbox this weekend. Luckily I had a spare. Going to try and get a hardened diff pin aswell for peace of mind.

Look after your diffs!!!!!

Can't afford it, going to get a hardened diff pin if I can, but if I can't i'll just take it easy until the 1380 goes in, if ever.

Jus got my gearbox off my old 998, it's had the top surface skimmed as it's perfect almost mirror finish on it, unlike any other gearbox i've seen. I probably won't get many pics of this repair as i need to be going flat out in time to get it repaired for uni. This is the gearbox that was attatched to the bell housing currently on my engine so should match up quite nicely. I realy want to know what went wrong in the box now. It has been making an odd noise recently so thats probably it, oh and the sump plug was covered in rubbish realy realy coated in filings.
