Had a nightmare today. I borrowed a good quality gun, but couldnt get it to work properly, took it to the paint shop and said that it needs a rediculous amount of air to work. So bought a new one.

Finally got the paint to come out. Aaaaaaand:

After lots of swearing, flatting, carefull dusting of coats, a couple more reactions and some more swearing and flatting, I finally got something that was passable.

Wanted to get the clearcoat on today, but after faffing around for so long, It put me back hours. :(

Hardly started on the removable panels.

I dusted a couple of the panels on very lightly and it still wrinked, so I think there was something nasty under the dozens of layers of paint, when flatting back I did find a couple of layers of thin filler that wasn't even hardened properly. So, I'm putting it down to that.

I rubbed the wrinkles out, blew over with some more blue and got a few runs in the laquer, but after working on it for a week and going away for a weekend I took a break. But rubbed the runs outs and started to fix some of the issues and the laquer has gone back on quite nicely, couple little patches to tweak but its getting there.

Changed my modified subframe beam thing, for a proper beam, to try and combat the knocking on the rear end. But now have a worse knocking because the adjustment ring of the coilover is hitting the car. Anyone had this before?
