That's a really nice fit. What sort of power do they produce?

Around 100 bhp. It's a nova gte engine. Quite tunable engine though, they like an uprated cam and throttle bodies.

Raced a friend who had one in his mini when I had my 1380 lump, and it was a little bit quicker than that.

Not bad at all, guessing you won't be keeping it standard for long then.

I'll try and get it going on my megasquirt ecu, and then maybe move to the z18xe again.

Been playing again, bought at exhaust manifold, and some pipe too link up an RC40 backbox I've got laying around for a budget temporary exhaust.

Ran a fuel line to the front, and started doing some wiring for the engine, and tried to start it:

Turned out my coil is knackered, so looks like a need a new one to get it too fire. :(

And mounted my bootlid.

So, going to get a new coil. Link up the exhaust and try to run it again.

shame about the coil, the first start is a great feeling. Does sound like its turning over a bit slowly as well

Yeah was turning over a bit slowly, that was on the battery from my BMW as well, so don't know why. Could be because it was just on jump leads, and they were kinda thin.

New coil, no spark, new dizzy cap and spark!!

Still not working, so been chasing the previous owners "modifications" to the loom and found a load of mistakes. Oh well working now!!

Dug out my grease gun, and tried too press out the pistons. Managed to break 2 G clamps and a screwdriver, but managed to get them out in the end.

All 8 pistons are gone, so ordered some new ones. Once these are done I should be able to take the car around the block :D

Yeah, but needs must. I didn't want to spend that because I want to get some better lighter calipers on it eventually, but hey ho it'll get it going at least.

WD40 wasn't going to get these out. They've been sitting dry for over two years, They really didn't want to come out.
