Should get the floor and welding on the sill done next time I'm up there and can try and get the gearshift done, then can concentrate on getting the plumbing and wiring done.
Cheers for the link minlandy, but I'm going to run internal pedal box to avoid clearance issues, and i've driven minis with servos and just didn't feel right. Granted my everyday car has power assisted everything but in a mini it just didn't feel right. So I'm going to go internal top mounted pedal box with remote reservoirs.

Harber was true to his word.
Bought this a while ago.
And this, but I think i told you that.
Took this chunk out of the inlet manifold.
Drilled a load of these holes in the inlet manifold.
And it fits!!
24cm clearance from cylinder head. I can check whether it will fit when I get up to the mini next.
Nice big opening for a large throttle body.
Only thing is, the ports arn't quite the same size, but align perfectly. So a quick but of port matching will help there.

Picture of my gap for the arch,
Slit just below the seam lip.
Fitted a filler piece.
Fits ok now.
Other side fits great.
Welded up one of the redundant wiper holes. Will do the other next time.
New throttle body arrived.
From a vauxhall v6. Should flow enough for what I need.
I also welded up the small bit of rust on the drivers sill. (badly)
And started to weld up the brackets to hold the front onto the a-panels, but it got a bit late by then.

Tank fits!
Other wiper hole welded.
Engine in the front, and radiator.
Dropped the VXR manifold in and it fits!
Loooooooooads of clearance.
Over 30mm of clearance should be enough.
Bit less here, but can always shave a bit out of the manifold.
Looooooads of room. Don't worry that bulkhead box is coming out, and going back to how it should be.
Engine just tickled the front end..
So filed in a notch, and no problem.
That's what room I have for exhaust / turbo.
Fits
16cm clearance.
Couple of cheaky rivnuts in.
Grill on.
And with it sticking out further than the front edge. Gives me 190mm of clearance!
I stuck my head in the wheel arch, and apart from the manifold to the masters, I have a minimum of 10cm clearance all round. Good thing I've got the bulged bonnet, as I think the standard one would have hit the oil filler.
Will have to do the standard front edge trimming..
Got a stainless door hinge fitting kit.
And some refurbished radius arms with minifins.

But hardly anyone has used the 1.8 engine and it's ridiculous inlet manifold.
The 1.6 engines go in alot easier.

I've done a bit on it recently and it's not a million miles away from starting re-assembly.
Door fitted.
Almost acceptable shut line, fibre skin made if very difficult as it's a bit thicker.
Rear isn't so great but will do the job, after all, this car is being built for the track, not a show car.
May need to do something about the handbrake. Gearstick mounts are only temporary for now.
Gear selector appears to work.
Template. Which was then welded.
Had my work cut out with the bulkhead, took out the old turbo bulkhead box, and just started to fabricate the bulkhead back together, and then make an allspeed type bulkhead box.
Modded my vauxhll gear linkage to use rose joints to tighten it up a bit.
Seat fits roughly with cage in place, which is nice :)
Look at the state of my garage, need a clear out.
I know I don't have a crossmember, but I did add some gussets, weld in a brace to the inside of the bulkhead and the allspeed frame has a brace across the towers. It should be more than strong enough and gives me more room for my inlet, however I still may add a crossmember back in.
Will paint this soon and bolt in my steering rack and subframe, possibly for the last time Which means all my welding is done!!!
Took the rusty vent out and just patched it up.

Thought you must have moved on considering the rate of updates in the past.
Good work.

It may be because I lack those skills entirely. Hoping to learn to weld soon though.
