So I've bought a but load of sound proofing recently and i'm trying to track down a longer final drive for it as well.
I've got some new clocks, the later style ones, and I'll try mount my TIM rev counter in the standard space in the dash.
Hopefully it should be quieter than standard, I need to take it home and do loads of work to it, as i'm finding some problems with ti.

Nice car! May i ask what you used to paint it then buff it?
I painted it with some rattle cans, which where apparently paint matched to my car, but its darker annoyingly.
The buffed using a buffing machine and some G3.
I havn't buffed the rear repair yet, was waiting for it to harden properly.

Some cage tubes out, and some MPI sound proofing on the bulkhead.
I never really liked the older style clocks, and my PCB was broken and not many of the lights worked.
So, I bought some new nippon clocks off ebay, but they are 2 clock ones, which is no problem as I plan on fitting an aftermarket tacho anyway.
This means that one of the indicator tell-tales is in the wrong place, the hole is in the clocks, but the wiring isn't. So just soldered some wires on.
Working well
Another layer of sound proofing, this from an MPI.
More tomorrow.
P.S oh yeah, I had to weld up some cracks in my floorpan where the solid mounts for the subframe fit. This is because I have rubber tower mounts, so I think the flex there, has cracked the floor. So solid tower mounts tomorrow.

MPI lower sound proofing in, so with 2 layers behinf the dash, 1 thick MPI lower one, my felt, carpets and mats. Hopefully it should be a bit quieter.
New centre console being fitted.
Crank case breather too the rocker box, as there's still too much crank case pressure, the rocker box then vents.
Moved my coilpack.
Overall look of engine bay, needs a good clean as my rocker box was loose and pee pee'd oil everywhere.
Still lot's to do before I go back to uni this weekend.

It will be a lot quieter now with all that sound proofing.........how much weight does it add?
I'm not sure, around 10-20 KG......Not sure though. I hope it's worth it, as it's was a nightmare, especially with that solid top steady!!
I had nothing behind the dash before, just a bit of flashing tape, but it doesn't do much.

Quieter FTMFW!!!

Mk1 golf gti. It fit's ok, but my heater doesn't fit, so I had to chop it up a bit. So I jammed it under the heater, and then 1 screw into the cross-member. It's not a bad fit, the VW gaitor doesn't fit properly, hence the small ally sheet I made around the gear-stick. I just wanted somewhere to mount some more gauges, and chuck my phone and sweets etc.
The normal heater position will make it fit better.
I copied the idea from 1984mini25 HERE
His fits better, because he got it forward a bit more. But you only have to take a little bit of material off the back where the mini floor curves up, and it slot's in.
