MOT test is tomorrow at mid day. I had a bald tyre on the back, so have swapped a pair of steals onto the back for the MOT.
You can see the small hole in the wheel arch, that's all I thought it was, but a quick poke with a screwdriver and it got worse.
Much worse.
Out with the grinder.
First bit of welding.
The dust by the jack, is whats remaining of the boot floor and valance closing panels.
Template made for missing closing panel. It was made and welded in.
Now boot floor corner made.
Welded in and more patches made.
The rest of the lip was going the same way, so rust treated.
All welded up, tank strap bracket welded back in, and all treated and primed.
Treated and primed for MOT purposes.
The rest of the lip painted, and tank back in.
Putting my MOT lights on
Fog light on, legal number plate back on. All wired up and ready to go for MOT tomorrow. Hopefully my new front (legal) number plate will arrive tomorrow morning and in time.
All painted up,
Theres the patch in the wheel arch, where all this rust started.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

My new rear plate light arrived, so I can get rid of my nasty chunky thing and fit the subtle one.
Not bad, just need to carry on with my Riv run prep.

Looks good! shame about the rust though, looking foward to seeing this at riv run!
Cheers man, but its nothing special at all, it's very rough around the edges.
Feel free to come have a chat at riv.

One used diff
Dismantled.
The output shafts will be used in my x-pin diff.
A bit of filler over my repair.
Nice and discreet.
More tomorrow. Oh and got a new tyre and the monkeys stole my posh valve cover and dust cap!

Started stripping my 998 for some gearbox bits.
Stripping it while balancing on those bricks was tricky, i'm lucky it didn't fall off. I'll carry on tomorrow, when i can make more noise and it's not 1am.
I only need the crown wheel and central oil pickup out of it, I'll build it up into a good gearbox I've got here and fit all my best bits, hopefully get it changed over by the end of the weekend.

At least i'm getting somewhere now.
998 off box, oil pickup pipe removed, I need the crown wheel out of it aswell. Then just bolt it all together into another box, and slap it into the car...........easy.

Built my diff.
Started building up the gearbox, see what on the input shaft?
Unfortunately, I couldn't get it out of gear, and fiddling with it I managed to shoot ball bearings and springs across my shed.
So will try again on another gearbox, and hopefully keep the gear selector in the right place when I lock it into gear.
