Avon themselves gave me a price which was better than yokos and r888s :) got myself a set on order
Would you mind PM'ing me the sizes and prices you ordered please.....I am interested in the 245/50's if they're a decent price.

what about the ACB10 sport Andy?
(great job on both the blipper and the new exhaust ;) )
Cheers Andrea,
Re the tyres, I had a quick look and although a ACB10 245/45 is tempting, the tread width is 31mm less than the ZZS (ACB10 = 206, ZZS = 237):
If the tyres are as Cheap as Jim is saying I will be tempted to get some, however I do get R888's at pretty much cost price so they are going to need to be a really good deal for me to swap over to them.......Also ZZS noisier than R888's at a reported 69dbs (ZZS 72db's):

The real problem with all these tyres is their height.
They are way too "ballooney".
I used to run 245/50 rear and 205/55 front CR500 on my old kit, and the sidewall was reaaaally tall (I had black rims which helped a lot in hiding that).
Yeah they are comfy and quite forgiving but I'd prefer using something with a lower profile.
The R888 are great in the 225/45 size, but what to get on the front? 185/60 are too tall.
The A048 get mixed opinions on the web... and there's a good 175/50 for the front but nothing for the rear.
The Kumho V70A seem good on paper, but have a strange shape and when going on a straight line you are really only using 70% of their width. There's a good 215/50 rear size, but the 175/60 for the front is a bit too tall.
It's worth noting that all these track tyres don't like standing water and low temperatures.
Toyo suggests to stock their R888 at temperatures above -9°C to avoid cracks on them, this may be a big problem if you drive your car everyday also in the winter.
I'll probably get some A539 in 175/50 size all round as suggested by zcars and call it a day...no hassle with wide arches, cheap to buy, and great all round tyres.
Check this out:

Just an Idea since the inner arches have been removed from Z car's web site and Jimmorris3 is looking for a set and I would also take a set go into production cptkirk!!!!! you have the skills, When I picked up my car in Feb from Z cars I enquired about this Item and was told the person they had contracted to make them was very slow!!!!! and they did not have any expected date of arrival for the ones on order and it would be quicker to make the item my self.
I am in conversation with Les at Customminis to get these made. Please be patient and I will endeavour to get them sorted.

Going to repost the photo's of how I made my inner arches, hopefully this will show how big they are for people that might want a set. I need people to realize that they were made specifcally for my car and the big Zcars arches that are on it, combined with fitting flush to the Zcars spaceframe forward of the wheel. What I am trying to avoid is people ordering some and then telling me they are too big or that they dont match the cut for their outer arches.
After loading the photos and looking at them again there may be different options to fix them to the car, maybe using the sapceframe and a rubber gasket to the body??

Flowmaster DBX Silencer Setup
A bit more work done on the silencer set up.....I will make it stupid quiet so I dont get blag flagged......Damn you - decibel meters.....
Here's a couple of photos of the silencers, it's a little difficult to see the conical shape of the perforated material but you get the idea, the inlet looks to be about 6" deep and the exit about 10".
exit end:
A few of last nights welding - thanks Stevie G...

Nice work Ctptkirk, and to Stevie G for welding skills look forward to you being on the track more often!!!!
Just an up date on The Green Zcars have been on a few shake down miles ( in the dry) and the car is ok.
But if you start from a hot car it will not idle and just keeps cutting out, so you have to keep the revs up as you take off the car settles down after a while but this makes things difficult when pulling out at a junction.
Have covered about 150 miles in the dry and 7 miles from work in the wet and by god was the car wet inside 3 t shirts to dry the floor out.
So any thoughts on the hot starting cutting out?
Regards Don

70mm Throttle Body
I made some progress with the new TB over the weekend, I had to spend some time lapping in the throttle plate to body to ensure zero leakage of air at closed throttle, it purrs like a kitten at idle now.
I had to made a spacer for the intake air control valve (IACV) so that the loom would reach it. I used some acetal as it's easy to work with and can stand the heat of the bay.
I got the whole lot back together again and this is how it looks currently (note the throttle cable is not connected):

AUTOMATIC THROTTLE BLIPPER
Not a great deal to report on this right now, other than I got a new timer unit through so now I only need a single timer unit as this has a delay built in and its tunable to 0.1 of a second, you can see in the photo that it reads 00.2, meaning the initial delay is 0.2 of a second and I have the on period set at 0.6 of a second, although I think that might be too long.....
I am using two relays to ensure that, should I catch both pedals accidentally, for a split second, that it will not send power to the solenoid, even though the timer will go through its cycle. The timer now has permanent power to it and uses a signal wire from one of the relays, again both pedals need to be depressed for this to happen.
I've got a nice little enclosure for it, that will initially sit within easy reach of the seat (probably next to the seat) so I can do any fine tuning really easily.
My only problem now is that when I fitted the 70mm TB over the weekend I noticed that I can get to 6-7k rpm with about 1/3 opening of the throttle so my initial plans with the solenoid setup might have to be changed slightly.....

you did a great job on the silencer setup mate!!
Looking forward to some pics and a video of the final result!
I dont remember mine to be THAT loud honestly, maybe its due to the lack of SC?
Cheers
Yes, its the extra bang from the SC that makes it so loud, that's why twincharging is a good idea, the turbo would kill a lot of noise....
