Hi all,
Looking to replace my spax damper and hi lo rear suspension with coilovers. Most probabbly go for the Gaz coilovers on mini speed.
What I need to know is, does anyone know what spring rate would be most like the softest setting on a spax damper. I know it will only be a ruff idea as this would vary between cars. Reason for this is that the current set up is way too hard for what it is needed for (road rallys, some of the roads are dog rough).
The choice of springs are 90, 100, 110 and 125lbs. 90 being recomended for lightweight cars, and 125 being reconmened for lowered units.
I think I'm leaning between the 100, and 110. With the coilovers is there much room for stiffness adjustment when they are on the car, or is this limited?
Cheers,
Kyle.

I have 100 lbs on the rear and 350 on the front. ride its great, have wondered if 90s on the back would be even better.

Do you use your car for trackdays? Thought 100lbs would be too soft, maybe I should go for the 90lbs then?

The higher the number the stiff the spring - it's the amount of force required to compress the spring by an inch. You can't alter spring rate only how high the car sits under its own weight. Hit a bump and a lower poundage spring will deflect more.
I thought the Spax mini kits only came with one pattern of rising rate spring?

I know how spring rates work.
When I said stiffness adjustment I should have said damping really.
I also know how , rebound and pro pedal adjustment (Fox shocks only) works through mountain bikes. Taken apart a fair few shocks (some even went back together). All I needed to know from other people experiances is how soft, a spring would feel on a car. I know what works for me on a bike, just not my car.
Any more people with any experiance on what any of those spring rates feel like, let me know.
Thanks.
