Sorry if this question has been asked before but new to this forum business,
if i want to fit a center exit exhaust will i need to weld new hanging brackets, and how hard is it.
I will eventually be putting a straight through pipe on the old girl i take it that will need hanging brackets too??
thanks

When I fitted my Maniflow centre exit, it utilised the same bracket as the original at the front of the rear subframe. At the rear of the subframe there were two holes already present where I could put two cotton reel mounts for the exhaust bracket.

Hi,

My centre exit exhaust had a different mounting system, sitting on top of two cotton reels, which then sit on top of one big C shaped bracket:

I had to drill holes in the horizontal part of the subframe to put the nuts and bolts through, using nyloc nuts to minimise possibility of it coming undone.

Which then placed the exhaust around here:

And a pair of valence hugging foglight finished it off nicely.

I've got a Maniflow centre exit with straight through pipe hanging around my shed - is there any benefit to fitting it
to my standard 998 ?

Can't tell you why but I just like the idea of a centre exit - but will it decrease power as it increases noise ?

Best wishes
Monty

Well if it is too big then back pressure will be lost and will therefore you will lose power, but with a straight through you get a loverly noise :(

Someone else shall be able to add more to what I have said :- But I like to help as mush as possible :(

My centre exit is held on by two big stainless bolts going through the rear subframe on the same kind of hanger on the maniflow system pictured above..

depends what pipe you get, if you get a silly big DTM then probably, if you stick with a twin box RC40 style system, (you can buy them in centre exit guise), then you should be okay.

I like the centre exit look, it's all about symmetry, hence the twin fogs, and fuel fillers, etc. Also the mk1 no. plate light tidies up the rear end!
