Im Really hoping that this post isnt deleated and given a fair chance to run its course just like the Sexuality Thread.
Ive been reading the Sexuality Thread with interest so while its a bit naughty i know, I've set up another user account in order to be able to post this topic without outing myself, but I do want a healthy discussion on this Topic.

Please Note that Transsexualism isnt in any way or form the same as Transvestitism Crossdressing or drag queens!
Im not going to say whether I myself am Transgendered or Transsexual or Have Gender Dysphoria, there are soo many terms that discribe the condition but i guess you all get the idea? People who are born one gender but go through hell trying to be a gender they should never of been in the first place.

Im not going to say whether I'm male or female or whether or not I've transitioned or what way but what I will say, is I know of a few people with minis who are transgendered, some have had surgery some have not. I have posted this to see what people think about the fact that theres most probably people on the mini scene and possibly here on TMF too who have been through hell and back but now are happy in the gender they should of allways been in the first place but can still feel fear of how they will be accepted by others at mini clubs and/or events if anybody realised their past?

Like sexuality your gender is forced upon you at birth and like this you cannot help your orientation, at the end of the day we all love our minis and really that all that should matter isnt it? On the whole The Sexuality thread has been positive, theres only been a few derogatory comments that are often uncalled for but the gist there appears to be quiet a few gay forum members which is great  Those who are straight but contributed to the sexuality thread generally agreed that though they were not gay it didnt matter if their fellow mini fans were it is after all irrelavant!

So just gauging an Opinion How do people feel about the possibility that Some of the guys on here started life as girls and some of the girls as guys? It really shouldnt matter but i realise it may do?

Please no cruel comments about Little Brittain think outside the box the media portray transgenderism as something to be ridiculed but for those living with the condition its no joke, a lot just try to get on with there lives, hoping to blend in and not draw attention to themselves.

Thanks for reading this and i look forward to an interesting and fair debate.

We all start life as girls.

I have a few friends & acquaintances who are transgender. One is not having surgery, but is living the life (and is supremely happy), one is saving up for surgery & is on hormone therapy (and has an ENORMOUS personality) and another is on the hormones but is at the moment unsure of surgery.

The third one is a sad case. I don't think that their "hell" (as you put it) will be relieved from them by their metamorphosis. I think they will realise that it's not their gender that is the issue. My fear is that they will make irreversible changes to their body & will still be thoroughly miserable, but it will be too late to change their mind.

Happiness is important, gender is a distraction.

Having said that, I myself am a girl but I'd like a willy.

Personally I don't care what people are whether they be male, female, gay, lesbian, straight or what ever, it makes no difference to me what people are. live is to short to worry about such things.

Personally why would it make any difference to me if someone I knew was transgender, we are the way we are, and its up to us to make sure we are happy with who we are. People will do what they think is right for them, sometimes its easyier for an outsdei person to see what appears to be right or wrong, but once someone sets their mind on something, nothing you can do will change it. Should they be a friend of yours, all you can do is support them.

Well i do know what i think

i am just unsure why someone that started life as a girl / boy shouldn't be accepted here on TMF or anywhere else on this earth

Everyone should be accepted for who they are not what they are...

well I'm not going to pretend i know about this subject, but from what I've seen it sounds like a case of "nature going wrong". by that i mean that not all babies are born as they should be.

we have "club foot" in our family, my mum had it, i had it and one of my daughters had it. when you see something like that you realise that sometimes it just goes wrong.

I'm guessing that this transgender thing is along similar lines, body says boy but mind says girl etc.

this is not something to be disgusted by, this is something to be sympathetic about.

anyone who find them self in this position should be given support and understanding so they can be whoever "they" want to be.

as said in the first post it really shouldn't matter

Calling dibs on swapsies when technology allows

Well I guess this topic is aimed at the non transgendered, so I can't really answer the question. It really wouldn't matter to me who the person is/was or what they look like, I learn't a long time ago that the brain is far more important than the body it lives in.

I guess I'll ramble a little about the legalities and such in our country.

Without trying to push my beliefs on others, its worth thinking about just how much of a grey area gender is. Our society groups it into 2 forms, with no inbetween. And yet there are many medical cases where people are born as such. There are those in accidents too, who lose their innies or outties. So my question is, what makes a man or a woman? Which specific feature defines the gender a person must be? You can be one gender legally but another in body and mind. Heck you can even be BOTH genders in body and mind, but you still MUST legally pick one to live as. Its rather odd.

There was talk of introducing more official genders (such as "other", "androgyne", "transgender"), but it was shot down this year by the govorment. If i recall they listed car insurence as one of the main reasons not to include more genders! Its a funny old world. There are however many places now which do not ask gender or offer multiple choices, and also places converting their toilets and other such things to be unisex. I can imagine unisex toilets popping up alot nowadays, not because its trans-friendly, but because it'll be cheaper for the company than 2 seperate bathrooms, heh.

"there appears to be quiet a few gay forum members which is great"

Why is it great? I could say that most forum members are straight and that's great, but it isnt  it's just... more or less reflective of society in general.

I don't think it matters, especially on a mini forum, what gender, sexuality or orientation you are. To me it is completely irrelevant.

Until topics like this come up and I have to ask, why?

I'm sure most "transgendered" people just want to get on with their life and when they see topics like this, probably are getting more attention than they particularly want themselves.
