Anyone got any good fixie pics?

Beware, saying fixie there will get you lynched. They prefer "fixed".

Recently purchased a hybrid.. Had this knackered old racing bike that cost me a fiver(!!!) at a jumble sale.. and i do love a good cycle about on it.. my average speed seems to be about 15 or so.. as the computer tells me.. but i can get about 19 on the flat.. Was thinking about getting a proper road bike but couldn't justify the cash!

You guys are all mad though!! 26 miles in the afternoon!! ?!?! :)

:(

I'm sure i read somewhere that the afternoon was the best time for exercise, but i may be completely wrong.

I'm trying to build back up my distances again, but for most of the time i was riding before i lived over in Weedon, Northants. so at the moment I'm just getting to know all the different roads around my area and getting used to their mileage, condition and hills, so when I'm "exploring" I'm never really sure how long my rides are going to be. when I'm back up to speed i should be able to string together a route of any distance and/or difficulty very easily without ever being more than 20miles from home :)

i now finish work at 2pm, so by the time I'm ready to go out i have a "good" hour before it starts to get dark. yesterday i really wanted to explore this new "loop" but the wife was at work till 2.30pm so i didnt get out till late again. i was determined to get the route done but ended up doing an even bigger loop by mistake :(

found some nice roads though :teehee:

well after searching you tube for some "good" cycling clips this is the best i could come up with (too many naff arty montages :( )

musics not to my taste but the sence of speed is there, and a little crash :teehee:

and this is worth a look.... 62mph decent :)

That crash pretty much ended Beloki's career =] but fair play to Lance for keeping it together! Thats up there with the greatest cycling moments.

I did a good 50 miles today in the big winds, got a new race bike on its way for next season. I will post it up when I get it, its going to be the poshest bike I have ever owned.

Got very wet riding down Oxford road last night and today. Soaked through, even my boxers. Was fun though, did Oxford Rd Station to past Withington in well under 30 mins.

well I've been out on the hybrid this afternoon and deliberately did my usual 15mile route to compare times with the road bike......

well i wanted to be able to say how awful and slow the damn thing was but much to my disgust.... the time and average speed are just about identical :D

maybe its not such a bad bike after all

still not a nimble as my lovely road bike :D

well I'm back on the road bike :dontgetit:

went and bought some mud-guards for the hybrid and when i got them home i thought "i bet they would fit on the road bike".

so, with a bit of trimming at the points where they pass through the frame, they are now on the road bike, dont look too bad and best of all give loads of coverage.

(yes, my bike does have its own little bed in the corner of the kitchen :()

did my usual 15 miles today, no problems, apart from all the damn women in their armoured tanks who went to pick their kids up but left their brains at home.

why bother rushing to get in front of a cyclist that's doing 20mph in a 30mph zone (so not going too much slower than the flow of traffic) 50 yards before a junction and then moving back over to the curb, joining the Que of traffic and blocking me from going past ?????

it seems once they pass you, they forget you :) well, she wont be forgetiing me in a hurry > :(
