Does that not give a wrong reading? Thought it might affect the calculations if it's at the wrong angle?

no, i don't think so. all it needs is a "pulse" from the magnet once per revolution.... i think.
mark@LCS will tell us ;)

Come on mark, where are you? :dontgetit:

I'm here! The sensor will work just fine like the anorak said! If you don't feel to happy with doing it like that, you might be able to move the sensor up more towards the tyre, there is a bigger clearence there (obviously move the magnet up too!).

Double check your settings for your tyre size and volia, should be all good to go.

Two words for you "Fizik Gobi"

You know your saddle is damn good when you never think about it!

Edit: I don't find many of you on www.mrange.co.uk ! Theres a rides/meets section so we could pin the TMF ride on there no worries!

You have to angle those sensor units sideways. I have fitted literally dozens of those exact units, they read fine at an angle. remember to make sure the magnet is touching the sensor, then back it off until it *just* stops touching. Gives best battery llife and easier to set up.

If you've still got the opertunity to buy a different one, i'd strongly recommend the Cateye Strada Wireless.. Although this is fairly a low level computer its a damn nice little peice.

You can get it here - http://www.wiggle.co...ter/5360029332/

shop around though you'll probably find it cheaper elsewhere.

Just been browsing around e-bay and the such to pick myself up a new winter/hack beast.. Seriously thinking about going singlespeed and steel.. hmmm

I wish i had £30 to spend on computer >_<. I have found it for £30 but it's still a bit expensive for me. I have found this though:

http://www.wilkinson...om/invt/0258259.

Might be a cheap fix for now.

One of them things though really.. Going back to the earler debates about 'expensive gear' and this is one of the times you should just save up that little bit more and get something better.

Cateye gear comes from a supplier called 'zyro' and they're pretty damn spot on with dealing with warrenty issues, and cateye have a big name! I'd personally just put some money in a pot and save up for the better one, you may find yourself shelling out for it in the long run anyways.

Put it another way, you'll have this computer for at least a year.. Now regardless of how many miles you do, a year for that computer works out to be 57p per week.. Well worth the investment!

Hmmm...yeh i thought of just waiting a month until i get paid again and getting a decent one (like that cat eye strada).

That one from wilko's will probably just break if i drop it (which i'm very prone at doing) so i think i'll wait.

Thanks again for the advice, much appreciated >_<!

Wilkos is a strange one for cycling kit. It sells equipment incredibly cheaply, BUT it appears to all be rebranded stuff from other reputable suppliers! I bought a lightset from work current selling price £38. Wilkos sells EXACTLY the same fron tlight (actually a smart....) with a carpy rear light, for a tenner! I have 1 of each on my bike, and they are identical in every way. 600 candlepower on my bike now.....

yeah, wilko's can be strange like that, some of the stuff is a bargain and some of it is junk. i bought a puncture repair kit this weekend, got a spanner and some tyre levers in it, all for £1.50.

and then they sell the tyre levers separate for 99p ???? >_<
