Picked up the bike yesterday and had my first proper ride of it this morning. Absolutely loved it :-. It's so quick. I've only ever ridden mountain bikes before and this is just in a different league lol. A few pedal strokes and your down the road :(.

Can't wait to be able to ride it to work. How long do you reckon it would take me to do 9 miles? Most of it's straight road and not much stopping. Half an hour?

good stuff :- any photos ????

when i did my main 15mile route on my hybrid i was surprised to see that the times were no different, maybe its not such a bad bike after all :dontgetit:

I do but they are on my phone and i'm at my girlfriends. I'll post them up tomorrow when i get back home. Gunna go and get all the bits i need for it tomorrow aswell.

I picked up a new bike on Friday!

I say new... It's an '80s Raleigh Mixte for my girlfriend. It's a beauty, original chrome rims still not pitted after over 20 years!

I like the mud to much!
And I prefer the peace and quiet to off road riding.

I was out today also, i favoured the wet sloshy MTB ride over a road ride due to that nasty wind! Still ended up to be a bloody fun day to be fair!

As for riding the roadie on the country roads.. Not around Bristol you can't.. Most of our country roads you'd need a full sus MTB cause the condition of them is appauling!

I'm buying a Giant FCR 1 from a mate as he is upgrading. So it will replace my £70 too small bike.
Does anybody have any experience of the giant? I'm not after anything special as I don't have much money to spend, but he's letting me have it for £100 so I'm happy. I just want to go out with the lads I row with once a week as part of my training
