And.... I can see nothing wrong apart from the cage on the release bearing has worn away at the plunger witch would account for the rattle

I would get that sorted before the MOT. It's technically a fail, due to the battery being insecure, and unsafe, IMO.

Unsecure?? Cable ties ;) also use an 096 battery (you may need to cut the bottom clamps off so it fiuts the box)

It didn't have one at the last mot and it passed :) I was going to get a 096 I think it it is from eurocarparts

My mate has 4.5" reverse rims on 165s on his mk1 cooper and they look sick!

It's gutting when that happens. even worse if it is something that is hard to find. that happened to me recently on something i had been searching for, for years

depends on cable run and consumer unit position, but generally speaking ,, yes
Feb 26 2015 11:08 PM -

Consumer unit is on the wall the otherside of where I'll be putting the shed haha. Cable run will literally need to be about a meter... Need to work out which type of breaker I'll need and cable size? It's for a compressor only rated for 30A plugs

4mm or 6mm cable and a 32A MCB.

debating upon wheather or not I should pull the cover off to see how bad my clutch is...

-
1984mini25
that the burning smell after driving and slippage in 3rd turns out the clutch needs replacing

There you go. Makes no odds then really. Might as well have a look :-)
Feb 26 2015 10:20 PM -

but, even if it was a number of years ago the clutch plate has only done just over 20k and I can't see that all being down to having to do hill starts all the time

Spent a few hours stripping a 997 Cooper engine, not a bad afternoons job!

Spider
rare beast these days. Did it have the pressure fed primary gear and coil spring clutch?

Put my name down for the craic with the lads at camp, who have now bailed out haha. Might see if I can fundraise a bit of money for H4H or something
Feb 26 2015 09:20 PM -
Steve220
Its awesome. I've done it every year and will continue to! Do it for RAFBF if you can, H4H gets millions each year and lesser charities still need funding.

Went to a work meeting at Lincoln Hospital today, ended up speaking to the Procurement guy about his first car (classic mini) and my own for a good half an hour haha. I do love my job at times.

£180 for two new tyres.. Ouch! Looks like we're going without food this month! ;D

-
cal844
On what vehicle! I can buy 4 tyres for that price!

The mini! Yoko A048-R; too ocd to have mismatched tyres! Plus others would be a slightly different size.
