£1k to insure a mk3 astra.:( What a joke! I was only looking for a 1.4L as a very cheap daily.

-
Chance
Yup..about the same as me..21..2years NCD. One accident. Ive done many insurance quotes all come out around the same 900-1500. Also 1.4-2.0 engines doesnt seem to make much difference

Wow! I paid 750 to insure a 1.4 cavalier when i was 18 and then £700 to insure a 2.6 190E when i was 19. That wasn't that long ago really

I will also say that if you choose an unusual car for someone your age you might be surprised...for example more people at 22 will have probably crashed a 1.4 306..than a volvo estate or something

If you think top gear is the best thing the bbc has to offer I am seriously worried my friend
Mar 25 2015 10:38 PM -

What else is it the BBC has to offer? They have the occasional Match Of The Day on and that's about it.

Is it legal to jam the petrol dispensing nozzle with your filler cap so it pumps automatically without you holding it?

-
Ben_O
This made me think of a woman i saw once at Morrisons. She pulled the hose out of the filler neck without first letting go of the trigger. It went everywhere and she stood there screaming but still didn't thin to let go of the trigger. A man came along and took it from here after a few seconds.

Off to collect engine no.3 of the year at the weekend, think I have a problem >_<

-

An engine each month? :)
Mar 25 2015 06:39 AM -

Is the problem you keep buying knackered engines? :-D

The house is very well insulated. The loft looks like something out of NASA because all the floor and between the rafters are stuffed with that foil covered insulation board and the fluffy stuff. Have decided on the triple glazing. It doesn't actually cost all that much more than double and want the soundproofing more than anything else.
Mar 24 2015 10:47 PM -

Very good. :) It's freezing in our house. :( Triple glazing seems to be quite common now, the new double glazing.

Well, they're ordered and take about 3 weeks to make so I shall have the benefit just about the time summer rolls around and all the windows will be open anyway :-D

I could use it every day but I don't have a boot or rear seats in mine because of the engine being there instead...

BronkoMini - yeah could argue about how it does everything I need it to, however now I realise how much easier and more comfortable you can do everything :) .
Oh dear Rem, doesn't sound like a daily car then. Ah I went 2014, 2012 & 2011.... missed 2013 as was away! Awesome looking car (& sounding). Depends, poss in France that week. Hope you get punishr back for the weekend!

I think ill not bother selling anything else to the ungrateful ***** on eBay anymore

-
Ben_O
he is claiming that he requested me to send it RM 1st class which he says would have been cheaper and quicker. I told him that i thought it was unfair for him to leave neg feedback as i had been straight up and prompt and he agreed so that's it i guess. a load of fuss for nothing
Mar 24 2015 03:41 PM -
Miniminx71
Yeah, and if you ent it by Royal Mail First Class it mysteriously might not have turned up so just say you're being a professional seller by using a tracked delivery. Bit more expensive but avoids non-delivery arguments.

If he leaves negative feedback then you can report it and get it removed, it sounds like you posted as per the listing that he agreed to by paying for it therefore a simple case for eBay to resolve. I had a slightly different situation but had the negative feedback removed myself in the past, this also counts against the buyer and if he gets more than a couple of these he'll find he's blocked from buying.
