Every time something on the mini gets sorted, something else goes wrong... sigh

I think if I'd had more than one wheel stud snap I'd be changing them all out as a precaution. If they are all the same age, matl spec, heat, etc & have seen same service conditions.

Yeah, mini-auto, I did that on the other hub earlier. They were probably overtightened at some point in the past. Might be worth replacing all the studs on all the wheels for piece of mind.

It's about a mile and half to my Mum's house but, in the Mini on a day like today, I managed to make it 7 :-D

Nope, This is in the countryside though. The nearest town and proper supermarket is about a 20 minute drive away. there are other small villages within a mile radius though so it's not isolated

So it would really suck if you lived there and didn't drive

My Mini's first classic car show tomorrow... I've been to tons of car shows, first time I'll be parked inside one!

I was more of a mass gathering than an organised show at Bristol Queens Square. It had absolutely everything there, from V8 Pickup Trucks to DeLorens. Much better than expected, loved it :)

Whilst in the queue at a place selling Mini parts today I didn't feel as much the amateur as I used to. When you hear comments such as "no thats the wrong choke cable, thats for a fuel injection model" you know your not at the bottom end of Mini repair knowledge.

Just spent $500 incluing freight on stuff from MiniSpares. That should get me about halfway to a road legal car!

Had the folks visit for the first time in months and they got to see the mini for the first time. Dad drove it and hasnt stopped smiling since. Happy days!

My dad was the one that got me into cars and especially minis as he had them when he was a kid.

Anyone ever thought about sticking a Peugeot 304 engine in a mini. Same layout as a mini engine, but a larger capacity yet lighter aluminium block...Ok maybe not, but there's one sitting in the garage begging for me to do it.

A lot easier ways to gain 75bhp even in the days when the 304 engine was made. All that work for no gain.

The problem with the 304 engine is that the diff is at the front, isn't it? So your driveshafts would be way too far forward.

Yeah. All very valid points.
