That got your attention....

After spending hours today getting the 1330 ready, I thought I would ring MED to see if my centre main had been machined for the strap...

Monday took it in, "ooh may not be able to get that done today but we'll try"
Tuesday rang... "No, not done yet"
Wednesday - day of rest let them get on with it..
Thursday 2 o'clock.... "Nope still not done... "

Collected 5 o'clock thursday, still not done...

Sod it I'll get someone else to do it...

That's the LAST penny they ever see from my wallet...

Notice How I've not sweared once..... F*****g T**sers

Your having a laugh ent you!!???? He took five weeks to sort my crank out. I was on the phone near on every day. I frew a bit of a wobbler a couple of weeks ago and got it the next day. Thing is when I got it back it had obviously been droped cause there was a nice chunk enbedded in to the top of one of the webs which I waighted to be wedged and bladded so long.
To be honest though, the quality of the work carried out was excellent. Ive found that you cant beat MED. You have to remember how many people use that company accros the world and to have it ground with in a week I think is maybe pushing it. The quality of there work is superb as well. Id rather wait a week or so for that bit extra.

thing is, Simon at Morspeed used the be the workshop manager at MED, and he left, for various reasons.

Simon is a very active member on Minifinity - 'engine-tuner', and is the nicest, most helpful bloke I've ever met.

Sorry to hear about your experience John, I hope you get it done somewhere else!

Only reason I took it there, was because it was on my way to somewhere else.... and I trust them to do a good job, but as he said himself, it's a 10 minute job...

I've actually called in a favour and am getting it done at a local engineering firm

When I last got a load of stuff done by MED my re-bushed and honed primary gear was awful. I sent it back and they apologised and promised a quick turn around. I ended up just buying a new one from Minisport for £60 a couple of weeks later as I needed the engine! The same box of stuff had a brand new oil pump in (it was a sureflow from Minispares) which was seized (too little clearance, the opposite of Rover pumps  ) and which I also sent back. That came back to me within a week. There's just no consistency of service from them I think. I haven't dealt with them in a while though.

Oh yeah and they forgot to put all of the gaskets I ordered in the box as well, and it took them forever to get the gasket set together when I phoned them. How simple is a gasket set really? They're an engine builder they must have hundreds of gasket sets in stock.

They did a lovely bit of work on the parts for me though so it isn't all bad. But then again it was Simon who did it.....

I think it's a shame that a company of this standing and reputation in the business, basically, cannot be bothered with the man on the street and are only interested about big orders or race builds. IMO, if you don't cultivate your reputation, then you'll loose it !

they've certainly lost it with me... to be honest a lot of companies have, if they have more stuff than they can cope with the answer is simple... get more people! but alas i fear its more to do with not bothering with the man on the street than capacity as you say.

never the less, its another company to knock off the list.
