Welcome to the project thread for Frankie, my MiniVan!
Here he is in all his primered, nekkie glory!
Plans for Frankie are to rebuild him relatively standard, but with some modern, more practical touches!
Frankie is going to be my company van, when I start my photography business, this summer. We figured that he'd be a great promotional vehicle!
So, in the end, Frankie will be sign-written and used as my company car! He'll be travelling the length and breadth of the country and used properly, like a MiniVan should!
Frankie is currently sitting in the bodyshop - He's got about 3-4 days left of prepping and tidying up! Before a guide coat is put on. Once that is done, he'll be fully flatted out, making sure there's no ripples or imperfections in the metal!
Then it's on with the main coats of paint! Then finally a slightly less concentrated coat, so there's a nice smooth finish!
He's being painted inside and out, but I'm not going to tell you the colour until he's back! It's a little bit different and I can't say I've ever seen a Mini with the colour on, but all I'll say is that it's a 1965 Leyland colour!
Anyway, should get him back home fully painted and windscreen fitted, in about 2 weeks!
Then the rebuild will commence!
So, everyone, say 'Hello' to Frankie!!

All named after YOU, Frankie!
That shell looks sweet, definatley a good promotional vehicle! Im going to keep my eye on this one as I will be looking for a van or estate soon as I can't fit my guitar amp in a saloon!
Loking forward to the progress!
Thanks!
I'd always wanted a van and planning for the business is going very well at the moment, so it seemed about the right time!
Yay a brother for Reggie!
Who are you going to get to signwrite your van? Ron, eh?!!
Depends if he will be willing to provide a friendly discount!
Very nice, I'm sure you will have lots of fun building Frankie up from nothing, plus it helps me clear my shed of all those spare parts from over the years!!
Nice work, kids!!

You see, I'm not being a skimpy student and just 'aquiring' the parts - I'm performing a helpful service!
