So from visting them in person on the 29th December i have waited just over 3 weeks and will be lucky if it turns up next week. So in all 4 weeks (providing it does turn up)
This might be a one off event (hopefully) and i can apprecaite that they can never have every part in stock, but being lied to about when the parts would turn up and being told that they had the parts elsewhere when in reality they have never had them at any stage just takes the p!ss

i've even made the phone call to check they have the stock before driving over, to then find once im there they didnt have the parts i needed. The one good thing that came out of that visit was me telling the guy what i really thought of the company to his face.
What parts are you looking for for the head?

TMF should start a bandit side so members could take a look to see who is cool.
I Ordered in Dec 07 Gearbox parts to replace stock and for a rebuild from Minispeed it turned up last week but that is normal for them, I have stuff that was orders over a year still not here.
on the 2nd of Jan I ordered the same gearbox parts from Minisport in my desparation, they still are not here.
last year I ordered a mix of parts from Minispares less than half turned up the rest went on back order, about a month later minispares informed me that my back order was ready to ship and listed it, it was the parts they had already sent me! some mother do have em!
what I am trying to say is they are all the same.

Best of all instead of waiting for all the bits and sending it together they just sent stuff when it came in stock, they sent me a single split pin and charged £3 postage. After ringing they said the rest of the packages would be free postage and they would refund what I had paid so far. Next packaged I was still charged for!
I think all my bits turned up eventually....waiting over a year for some things to arrive, I had forgotten I'd ordered them...

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell Trading Standards!! Thats the only way we can shut these cowboys down. I've heard SO many stories about them giving false information about stock levels, or taking peoples money and never sending out the order!
Not to be confused with SC - Specialist Components, who are awesome.

all part's suppliers are always un-reliable whatever industry your in,i prefer to deal with people face to face if i can but ordering online is a risk you take to try and save time,

I know that suppliers such as SC and any other suppliers may have difficulty getting parts it is understandable, it's the lieing about what they do and don't have and when it will be delivered is what i cannot stand. I feel trading standards may be getting a call...

have you used any of the part's that you have purchased from them yet?,i would suggest gathering any correspondance that you have i.e the following
-reciept's -especially one's of good's yet to be recieved
-delivery notes -these should have times and dates on them, used to prove time waiting for arrival/extra delivery cost's
-print out's of any e-mails/online order's
write a letter to sc parts expressing your concern's/dispute's and how you would like the matter resolved!.i would also say make at least 3 copies
one for them, yourself and if need be trading standard's,if they reply then make copy's of that to do the same.
if they seem to not want to resolve the issue then write to them again saying that you want a full refund of good's/delivery charges plus expense's(all the letter's/stamps/envelopes ect, remember bank's charge you £25 per letter when you miss payment's!)and if they dont agree to your term's then you'll be taking the matter to trading standard's.
it's a long process but you'll have more of a chance that way, last thing they want is trading standard's on their back so if you push hard enough in the right way then you'll get result's.send all letter's for sc to their head office stating your experience with "crawley branch".
hope you get it sorted out,and for a laugh crawley branch are currently looking for sale's staff!!

BUT in true SC parts style they still managed to screw up the order! i bought 998 cooper exhaust valves these should have a large collet groove instead they sent me standard 998 valves which are small groove
Anyway i thought i would assemble the rocker gear as all those parts were correct......or so i thought. So where do i start? the botched rocker or the one from the 60's?
I must state that 6/8 rockers were perfect.
Rocker number 1 was unlike the others, it had the original factory number printed 12g1221 came with no nut on the adjusting screw and as it was clearly an older rocker as it was a different colour and there was more play when it was on the shaft and visibly looks older.
Rocker number 2 was different from the start as it was a markedly darker colour but there is more but i will let the pictures do the talking
The adjusting screw is not straight! it is at an angle they could not even get a hole inline!!!
if you thought that was bad LOOK AT THIS They bodged the bush then tried to fill it in!!
What it should be like
I already decided that i would never use SC Parts again and i emplore the rest of you to stay well away!
So i will be heading back to crawley again to sort this mess out.

I don't know if aybody has had any experience with SC parts or work there, but i would not touch them with a barge pole after this encounter. I visted them in Crawley before the new year to buy many parts for my cylinder head. Some they had in stock, some they had in a depot elsewhere but i was told they would be in next week. That week came and went no parts... so the next week about the 8th or 9th of we called them and we were told they were being delivered next week. We waited until the end of that week to be told they were still not in. Phoned them again this evening to be told that they never had them in stock! and that they were getting them from the manufacturers... and have now been told they may be in the end of this week.

I have used SC Parts twice for my MK1. I think poor, woould be fair. The Web site will allow You to order pretty much anything. Allow You to appear to pay for it. Then the goods start to turn up in dribs and drabs. Some never turn up and Your left not knowing as no communication from the company.
I ordered the MK1 rear windscreen seal (smaller than the rest) and it just wouldn't fit. I even got Auto Windscreens to try and ft it. They supplied another seal, fitted no problem.
SC are off my list of suppliers - vote ith Your feet.
