Today I bit the bullet and cut a great big hole in the roof of MR J for the British Open Classic roof I bought earlier this year and have re-covered.



Measured, measured, measured a bit more, then measured it again before remeasuring it!!



No turning back now.

Cheers mini1000, yes, definatley had to grow a pair before I started cutting!! lol.

used a spare hole in the switch panel that the fog light switch is fitted to (under the dash)

Had a couple of hours this morning, think i've got one positive fan



Still need to remove again to install drain lines, wire it in and paint the bare metal edges.

Really like the look of the webasto, i'm quite tempted to fit one to my project.

Just saw this linked from the red mini thread. I have a red 94' Spi too - I think what you have done is amazing !

The first ever Mini I looked at had a Webasto. The seller withdrew it from sale, but I've liked the idea of them ever since. Shedonwheels had one fitted to her MPi and it looks great, as does yours. I just can't bring myself to cut a hole in a perfectly good roof!
