Hi guys,

Following a fair bit of interest I am now selling complete bucket seat mounting kits. To be honest you could fit 99% of seats with these, not just buckets, but they do need welding in.

I am working on bolt in versions but they would not be suitable for motorsport use.

Anyway here's a couple of pics:

The kit for 1 seat includes:

4x spreader plates, 80x60mm, 3mm thick
2x round tubes, 600mm long, 25.4mm diameter, 3mm wall
4x mounting brackets, laser cut from 3mm mild steel, a good 40mm lateral movement, purpose made deep M8 square nuts floating in welded channel

The items will need trimming and flat plates forming to fit, I can fold the ones for the sills to save you some work if required, the ones which weld to the tunnel will need to be bent to shape which can be done in a good vice.

Price is £35 plus postage for 1 set (for 1 seat), or £65 plus postage for 2 sets, courier is £8 set cost for UK addresses.

I can make these (and almost anything) to whatever spec is required, I now only use 10g CDS tubing, although this is about 3 times more expensive than cheaper ERW tube, it is generally required by the MSA and to my knowledge my kits are the only ones available which actually comply with the MSA Blue Book specs, which state that all fixtures etc must me a minimum of 3mm thick!

Don't have a welder, so i'd be EXTEREMELY interested in a set of bolt on ones if they get made. *please say they're getting made*

My buckets sit really high on the standard subframes so these are a godsend!

Bump! Had very good reviews about the quality so far and have folded up several sets of side plates for the sill sides

Hi all, have made some changes to the design, I can almost guarentee these are the strongest available adjustable mounts now, the spreader plates AND brackets themselves are guillotined and laser cut from 3mm steel, I have new custom floating nuts machined from square stock which means there is a lot more area in contact when tightened which prevents pull up (was not an issue with the originals but there is even less chance of it happening now), the nuts are also even deeper and finally the tube supplied is 2.8mm wall CDS tube. Because of the tube cost the kits will be £35 each plus postage of £8, but the postage is free after the first set.

Hey all, sorry I have been away for so long, my main business has been so busy I have not had a chance to get any workshop work done, or even work on any of my 4 ongoing project cars  

 

So- I have taken the plunge and now have a full time employee, which means I am now getting more time to spend in the workshop and (hopefully) on my cars including my rally mini!

 

I have upgraded the design on the harness mounts as well, so will be starting to build stock on all these bits soon!

Are they weld in only, or do you do a bolt in version? What about if you still have the rear bins?

Hi, these are weld in, I considered bolt in but decided not worth the risk as the forces on the seat in an accident can be horrendous, these are really for serious race and rally applications!  Bolt in would work but you would need to weld spreader plates on the sills to beef them up, then it defeats the object of being bolt in!!
