Now this is a technical question

As you know im having loads and loads of problems with my car and its fueling.

I have seen alot of people use megasquirt on there cars for the ignition and everything i was wondering if it would be possible to put it on an 998 so that it was fuel injected and also had electronic igniton, if its possible what parts are required for it?

Thanks

Jackman

i think you can use megasquirt how you want as it is programmable.

Ed4ran has started doing it to his i think.

Yea, its perfectly possible to use it on injection I'm going to be using a scaled down version on my Vtec for monitoring purposes.

very hard on a mini because it shares inlet ports so only have two injectors and if u cant get an su and a dizzy working on a mini u have a fat chance with fuel injection

I was speaking to kadda1980 i think he's using megasquirt on his injection tho he is using throttle boddies as well. You might want to have a word with him to?

The reason i cant do a carb and dizzy is that my dizzy is warn (found out today) and i cant use a colour tune :gimme:

Give the man a break, he cant use colour tune for a very good reason and may not want every one to know. So leave it be. It apears the bob weight springs and the posts they fix to may be a little worn causing a little free play. Cant remamber though since its been a few years since I have inspected a dizzy that much.

Well lets see how it goes MS if we sort out the fueling then i wont need injection.

Also minidaves try using a colour tune which only has two shades, one blue one and one orange one. I cant see the different shades.

I must admit I didn't see any different shades when I used my colourtune, I had to play it by ear to some extent.

I am using it more as a referance if he cannot set up a carb then how is he going to set up a custom injection/sparks system.

I find somethings difficult like spelling and writing clear english, dont stop me having a go at something, but i would not want to see someone waste alot of time and money trying to get it something to work

Nothing wrong with a bit of a question now and again

Thats easy, its electronics, im a computer programmer :gimme: Injection (megasquirt in example) will be alot easier for me do set up as i know more about computers than tuning a car. My next project will use a megasquirt setup for everything as ill find it alot easier.

I can setup a carb, can get it running but it wont be a spot on as other people can do it. Last time i set it up my emissions were through roof.
