Hi mate, what can i say? This is my first post as i have only just joined the site, but i have to say that that i am a professional welder/ Restorer (Classic Cars) and after seeing what you had done to your car that laughingly passes for Welding and plate making I'm totally blown away. All i can say is don't lose heart because for every A..Hole out in the world there is a thousand good Guys that will help you. If your ever in Sunny (well at the moment) Essex i would be more than happy to show you how to weld and give you advice.

Sounds like the car is going to be in good hands soon Really, really shocked at that so-called welding, the guy that did that needs shooting. As said, the car looks pretty good apart from the (pretty localised..) holes. You'll be bombing around in it again in no time!!
Good on you for sticking with it.
Cheers. I hope so!

Picked it up today and after a few trailer related mishaps(tyre blowout and the winch snapping) its in my recently tidied garage.
005.JPG 4.09MB 90 downloads
Had a quick look around and its better in some areas and worse in others!!
Floors don't look too bad, on one side it has 1/2 an oversill fitted!!
The other has a full one, the inner sills don't look too bad and should repair.
The front floor will need a new section to replace the butchered job done to it before
The rear floor needs a few sections let in
The rear 1/4 needs a few repairs to the top and bottom.
Its the boot that needs the most work, its pretty much shot!!
Both arches need extensive repair, I'm hoping to only have to buy one arch and use that as a donor panel for both arches.
The rear valance has been fitted very badly, to do a proper repair on the boot floor this will need to be removed so replacing it is no hardship.
I should be able to keep the panel list quite small as I've got various off cuts that can be used.
Watch this space!!

Up on stands so cutting could commence!!!
Pulled off the over sill on the drivers side..........oooopsss!!!
Thats a bit worse than I'd have liked, still onwards and upwards!!
Cut and fitted the new front floor section
The inner sill needed quite a few repairs and to be honest it was borderline on needing a new floor pan but I know Daves on a budget so
I repaired it.
Nearly finished it..
That looks better!!!
Still got 1/2 a day left on this side and its done.
Stay tuned!!
