Hi all,

if like many of you I remove the jacking point when I get to that stage in the rebuild, how does everyone go about changing a flat?? Is there a preferred jack people carry or just a can of tyre weld as a put on ??

I wondered this to have recently just left out stanadard jack as it just rattles around and not much room with sub in boot lol.
I think others have suggested compact scissor type jack as a better jack and then i guess jack up on subframes.
I have the AA to so will use them really as i rarely use them will always carry the spare wheel.
Most importantly dont forget to carry the socket for your locking nuts if you have them as chances are AA wont be able get off the wheel!

Scissor jack under the subframe.

I still have working jacking points (about the only thing that does work >>_< ) but a scissor jack is still considerably more stable than that ridiculous, one legged, excuse for a jack.

I'd avoid tyre weld. Once it's full of weld, you can't repair the tyre!

Replace the jacking point, and jack, with an AA card - done!
Or carry a bottle jack to go under the subframe.

i carry an alluminium trolley jack in the boot, but then again, i dont use the mini for shopping, thats what me mums cars for, lol

http://www.machinema...um-trolley-jack

its held in the boot by some eyebolts and a ratchet strap, so doesnt rattle about.
