I'd like to get more views/details of the strengthened rear subframes fitted to the Cooper Sportspacks, apparently to take the extra stresses of the 13" wheels.
Minispares sells them and they are mentioned in the latest Mini World.
As far as I can tell from Rocky's rear subframe the extra strength comes from double-skinning. Do people ever fit the Sportspack subframe, or one they have beefed up themselves, when they are converting to 13s? Huey my pickup didn't have one and he was running on 1" rear spacers, even wider than Rocky's.
I have Ethel's view

I think the subframe issue is down to Rover squeezing a bit of a crumple zone in to the MPI shells. 175/50/13's will fit any Mini, the radius arms are the limiter.

Anyone else got a view please?
