I'm assuming it'd be helpful for designing spaceframes and mocking up engine conversions for example, or is it just a "lets see if we can do it" exercise? I'm guessing the accuracy won't be good enough to get any workable data for doing the above though.
I've just signed up to www.smcars.net and I'm well impressed with some of the renderings on there - a good surfacing package would be needed to generate anything close to the real thing.
I'm up for modelling some mini panels in Solidworks just to see how I get on - although I'm sure it's not a good enough package to use from a surfacing point of view.

All i can find on the net is very basic blue prints. Have any of you got blue prints of a space frame/ or shell of any mk of mini (up to 2000)?
Any help would be ace, thank you
In answer to the original question, I doubt there is much information freely available, there are a few people on here that would do the CAD info for you (myself included) but it would take alot of time and therefore would have to cost some moolah I'd think.
Can anyone help me
I am designing a new alloy rear beam type axle, fabrication of it is not a problem, the problem is i can draw it on paper but i was thinking on the lines of my pc. i have autocad 2005 but havnt got a clue how to work round it.
will it take me a long time to learn how to do a simple drawing with cad or will it be easier with paint
i was thinking more of the 3d views cheers for any help

Personally I'm looking for a set of drawings that i could use to strike off for a space frame.
any thing anyone has would be very gratefully received.
