I am currently in the process of rebuilding the front end of my mini and I'm on the fence about fitting a flip front or restoring it to normality. I have to say fitting a flip front would be quite a bit cheaper as Im pretty sure the flitch panels need replacing, to where as for the flip front I can just cut the bad areas off. For the whole of the flip front it is cheaper than the flitch panels and then ontop of that I would need the front and the wings. Apart from the price are there any large benefits of having it original or with a flip front. To be honest I couldn't really see myself using the flip to much at all. Thanks in advance.

Well, a flip/removable front end certainly makes any work considerably easier to carry out, I guess it all depends on how often you're in the engine bay and what you're doing.

I also think there are some IVA issues with cutting away the inner wings?

welding it all back to standard will be cheaper than flip front and BIVA test
