So a Designer in white. About to get a new paintjob (hopefully) and I'm wondering what people's opinions are.

I'm thinking black roof, white body, red interior. I think I've seen some like that in Mini mages and they look amazing. The car in question is looking a little tired. I'm also thinking of losing the arches and running the silver strip, and adding a Mk1 grille.

I know it's my car but any opinions?

I am local indeed Chris. You'll have to come and have a look as there's no radiator in mine at the mo! It's a bit all over the place. Needs a spray and an interior that matches ideally. I like the retro look myself - although the sick on plate sounds good.

Get the original interior <_< or some black and white buckets to match to keep the "Black and White" theme about it :P

I have looked, but the Quant interior is a B stard to find, especially locally! I'm set on a retro hash up for now though as I'm saving mega money for a motorbike. I'll be teaching (well, learning to teach) in Luton so only needs to be a runabout.

I might speak to Roofless about the decals, but the Designer wasn't the most masculine of editions, so the seats might not reappear.

Hi Bradley, is your's a project, or just waiting to be able to drive it?

Had a little play (see atttached)

Personally, i'm a big fan of two-tone paint schemes on minis - and I think your idea of using a red interior would look fantastic (Sometimes it's nice to have a bright colour when you've got a very harsh black/white contrast).

It's not exactly my best work, i'll be honest, but i've left it fairly basic so you can have a play around with it if needs be.

Try having a look through old issues of MiniWorld, I'm sure there was a guy who had his car featured not too long ago who went with the black/white two-tone scheme.

Looking at the picture again, i'd have made the arches white, but seeing as i'm off to work now (can't edit pictures like this on my Iphone) i'll have to give it a bash another time.

As for the decals, is it worth creating a new version of the designer logo? Of course, Mary Quant was a brilliant designer in her own right, but there's plenty of logos from other designers that aren't quite as "girly"

Think of it as your own twist on the mini "designer"

;)

That looks really cool, thanks! Definitely made my mind up on the black roof. I think you're right with the arches too, and the red interior will look great in that!

Time to start saving up and scrounging, this is going to be done on a budget.
