it is definately in the haynes book of lies - as i used it to do mine.

one thign to look out for afterwards is the steering "sticks" until the bushes bed in properly - which was a bit scarey to start with as the steering didn't return / give much feedback!

you hve a bush both ends of the column - you have to remove the column to do it.

the inner shaft then slides out of the tube and you can replace the bushes - cue swearing and lots of attempts at getting both bushes to stay in :teehee:

If they are the felt ones then they can be removed, soaked in oil over night and then put back in, play magically dissapears! on a serious note the bushes swell up with the oil so once fitted again become a tight fit

It will be the 1 down by the pedals, theres a bolt you have to undo down there and undo the 1 bolting the column to the dash the column will lift away, then you can pull the bush out, best bet is to make the wheels dead straight before you take the column out aswel!!

Its yet another job I need to do on mine >sigh<

There's not much in the Haynes manual but it's in section 10, page 17, item 24. Hope this is enough to get the job done. >_<
