Hi
Just looking to replace the fuel hose under my car. Just like to confirm I can use 6mm microbore copper pipe. Something like
http://www.plumbers-...6030-4819-p.asp
Was going to purchase 3 metres. Or does the pipe need to be a special type
Thanks in advance

As long as its 6mm internal bore, then it shouldn't be an issue.

Many thanks. I will double check first. The car is only a standard 998

I use 8mm microbore then jubilee clip fuel hose to go over the subframes and to the tank

I've never actually replaced the long fuel pipe, but is it possible to put a slight flare in the ends of the pipe?  Would make the rubber connections more secure.

A hose flaring tool would be ideal for the job. ;)
But a bubble flare is probably more than you ll ever need.

I thought it was 6mm or 1/4 inch
would 8mm be ok for a standard 998 and what are benefits of 8 over 6?
I was planning to use fuel hose to connect to tank.

There is no benefit from having 8mm over 6mm and you don't need to flare the pipe ends.

The standard 6mm pipe is fine and fuel pressure is less than 5 psi from most pumps so flared pipes are unneeded.

Some of the standard pipes and hoses from mechanical pump cars have no flares or clips

That said I would always use clips unless its one of those with the standard no clip pipes.

Having looked at the pipe in my link again, I think the 6mm is the outside diameter. Does anyone know where to get 6mm id pipe from?

I don't think anyone specifies 6mm ID or OD as it does not matter.

Pm me I can do copper or cunifer (copper nickel iron alloy)

The reason I use 8mm pipe is it's a snug fit with the fuel hose, it also makes the pump work less as the bigger pipe doesn't cause too much restriction
