I have a DSN oil filter housing with the threaded hole for a temp sensor. I have bough an adapter form them also to suit the change in thread size.

I think the sensor is too long and may restrict the oil way.

what do you say?

From the engine side:

From the oil filter "hole":

They do sell a longer adapter, but they seem to think this one was fine.

far as I remember the sensor has to be in the oil flow to get the correct reading. sure some one will be long shortly to help...

edit - spelling again

5/8 UNF at the sensor side (the correct thread  for the sensor)

nope other side? if parallel thread you may need a washer between it and the filter head- which will lift it a mm or so.

but as to restricting flow i would not be too bothered as there are more restrictions in the system.

restrictions on the pressure side have little effect unless they are bearings.

Ah!

I am not sure what the thread size is. however a washer won't work as the threaded part is so short.
