There was (I think) a televised race with Minis yesterday at the Mountain, I missed it as I was elsewhere.

Today at around 9:30 AM local time, Mokes are being used for the Main (V8 Supercar) Driver's parade :shades:

In the past, they have always used rag top Mustangs.

It will be good to watch on TV. I did receive an offer back in June to attend and participate in this, but frankly it was a very raw deal.

<Edit: From earlier this year

The grade on the track at this point, so I'm told, is about 1 in 6 it is steep!

The poor Moke was also hampered by tipping the scales at just on 1.4 tonnes too!

Well, the TV coverage of the Mokes was,,,,,, zip. I was able to get more TV interest in our Simpson Desert Crossing.

I think I caught a Moke Roll Bar, just as they cut over to the Tech Guy in the back of the Pits.

I do feel for the poor buggers who gave up a week to do this, paid the cut price of coff coff $1000.00 AUD coff for the coff privilege coff , were forced to camp like maggots in the street, as they were only given 3 months notice and ALL the accommodation is booked out for around 100 km in every direction for years in advance, and for no TV coverage and not even a mention of it.

The usual TV crap, whenever I've had to deal with TV it'd been the same bulls*it, I just don't anymore.

I'm not sure who paid $1000 for the event, I went along and it was closer to $330... That included a 4 day track pass, dinner etc.

I had a really nice time too, the TV cameras were turned off completely for the mini lap on Saturday, I didn't need them to be turned on to enjoy the lap around the track. All up there were 82 minis and 27 mokes. I'll have a chance to go through my photos when I get home.

The local free to air coverage was apparently woeful like usual. Ive been told the FOX and NZ channels displayed more of the moke parade.
