Hi all,

ive had a little browse though the honda section of the conversions section, but i cant seem to find anyone running a 2.0 K20A2 vtec conversion? they all seem to be the 1.6/1.8 versions? unless i'm missing them?

basically i've got the chance of a full running car thats bodywork is well gone after an accident, for a VERY cheap price. has anyone attempted this conversion or is it too big? i've got a standard 74 steel fronted clubman....

any advice on the feasibility would be greatly received before i get the flat bed transit out and go an a little trip! haha

cheers guys

Look on SuperfastMinis website.  Few K20 conversions on there but most with K20s throw it in the back and make it RWD.  Given you have a clubman it should make life easier to front mount it.

I have an EP3 Type R as my daily and also got it cheap (although, its mint condition) and the urge to swap the engine into trig is strong

Quick google...

Unsure of the first but the second 2 photos have extended fronts, minimum +90mm.

Yup. the Minitec K20 conversion requires a +90mm round nose front. The Clubman front should take it but you need to pull the front panel out so that its pretty much vertical rather than curves under the bumper

Go B16.  Fits under round nose, doesnt have as long a stroke as the B18 which reduces the risk of it burning oil further down the line (trust me on this, my B18 Integra DC2 LOVED oil...)

Given the age of the b series nowadays and the difficulty finding a decent low mileage unit I would be factoring a rebuild into the cost of the conversion anyway so I wouldn't be worrying about the increased chance of burning oil due to the longer stroke.

Freshly honed cylinder walls and new rings will see you for a long way before that becomes a concern.

I would recommend that as a matter of course on any engine conversion to be honest, as you never know what you have bought until you strip it down.  I thought I would mention it to the OP since we had to help find existing K20 installs on google.
