Hi guys i found a mini that i want to buy from Japan with a special colour "Morello cherry red"

He said the colour is special from factory

Does anyone have info on it ?
Paint code ?
Number produced ?
And on what model ?
Is there anything they were celebrating for with this special colour ??

Strange, its down as a 1999 rover mini, 1275, multi colour and MOT ran out 27 September 2014, nothing about it being exported.

the redg plate also shows it as a 1978/79

They've just put black silver plates on it....for show purposes. It's a T regarding.

Can't find a paint code for morello cherry red, think they are two colours combined in error there is cherry red and morello purple which has a paint code CMV. Check you vin plate it should be on there bottom right corner.

It's actually Morello Purple PEARL, the paint code is BLVC1280.

 

 

I believe it was a special order only colour, my aunt order an MPI in that colour back in the day and it took a long time to get it. 

 

Sadly I don't think there's a registry pertaining to how many of the '90s Mini were done in each colour.

It was indeed a factory option colour for a year or so, and very few (strangely ) got ordered. I've seen 2 or 3 for sale over the years, aside from Yukon grey it's my fav MPI colour

on the japanese site, it saids 600 made only 

but no actual facts

just debating if its worth the extra $$

if it aint rusty its worth extra and yes it was a factory order colour

No it doesn't, that would be with a 'T' suffix. This has a 'T' prefix which was issued between March and August 1999.
