I agree totally, I live in France where the summer days are boiling, and seeing as the car will only be going out when it's dry and sunny, I would like to release all that heat build up when I'm in it.

Pete.

so you'll release the heat by removing the roof and then sit in the open sunshine and bake.

What a complete knob

Flaming

Actions considered as Flaming (the act of being offensive towards others) will not be tolerated, we try to allow people to voice their opinions, and allow for debate. However we do not want to see posts that offend other forum members.

Anymore name calling etc will be dealt with. No need for it.

Bit harsh to say it ruins the looks of a classic mini. Horses for courses mate. It's your mini, do what you want with it and enjoy it :-)

Not the cheapest but I don't think you can beat the webasto for the summer convertible feeling, this was mine

Why is it every post I've read from you today you're criticising or slagging people off?

Sorry opinions not allowed in Fluffy Mini Land? The reply I made was to a silly statement...again going back to a previous ridiculous statement about ruining a car with a sunroof, in itself provocative. Each to their own but if you have ever had the pleasure of driving a Webastoed Mini, then you also would support the idea.

Oh, and so sorry to hurt your sensibilities, I am used to contributing to biker and hot rod sites, Minis being just part of my petrolheadiness ;o)  Its life, get over yourself. *searches for fluffy teddy emoticon to make the world all comfy again*

Opinions are allowed, but calling someone a complete knob isn't.

i have a manual webasto roof and it is great on sunny days, even though we dont get many of them. however there are a few drawbacks (which will apply to the electric ones as well).
1) there is a lot more wind noise when at speed
2) car is freezing in winter and at least mine takes long to warm up (in the cabin). a wind deflector helps
3) water will find its way in
4) spare parts are rare, or expensive
5) the outer skin will shrink and harden over time, meaning the wind noise, water ingress will get worse

you can buy a full webasto manual kit for 650, but best pay a coach works to fit it

the bmw glass roof looks good :)
