Got my 1963 Austin Cooper just January this year (2015)> The car was bare and didnt have interior and missing a few chrome pieces on the lower sills. But I managed to somehow find the time to make this car a cool looking replica of the famous BMC Works mini race cars. Although my intention at first was just to add some lights and straps, I found myself slowly heading to the direction where it is somehow getting the look of Paddy Hopkirk's 33EJB #37. A seasoned classic mini owner will know what is still missing or what is wrong with the car (for example: Right hand drive works dash used in a Left hand drive mini or wrong light bar and wrong center spot light) but now Im looking into replicating a specific champion car or perhaps should I just stay with what I currently have (#63) and not care?. I mean Id love to have a nice champion replica but still unsure. (Im not trying to go for a very strict restoration of pieces but period correct elements would be nice) I do have the means to produce decals to replace the numbers and powder coat this authentic Monte Carlo rally plate. But the since the driving lamps are hard to find, I would stick to what I have. Any thoughts?
