After a lot of deliberation I have decided to sell my mini. I no longer have time to complete the car and to be honest I have too many toys and have enjoyed building this mini more than I think I will enjoy driving it.
Its an 87 mini and I own the V5 which is in my name.
Spec:
New 13" ultralites
New Gaz shocks all round
New hi-lo all round
New poly bushes all round
New aluminium race seats
New Sparco 4 points
New Mintex rear shoes and front pads
New Disks (just rusts now)
New rear brake set up including drums
New Koso dash all wired up
All new carbon effect dash with new switches
New deep dish steering wheel with start and full beam switch wired to it
Aluminium fuel tank with new breathers and pipes
Dynamat light weight roof deadening
Windcreen fitted with new rubbers and all other rubbers are new
Mostly new chrome work with only the grill not being new
All lights are new
Miglia arches
Full stainless exhaust system including Micron can.....really does sound amazing
New battery
95 893cc fireblade engine fitted to front
Corsa based chain drive diff
New trumpet sock filters
Brand new full geometry kit fitted but not really set up
As for the shell, its in very good condition with little or no rust that needs welded. Underside has been sealed and body has been treated to a new paint job in merc arctic white. However the body and paint has now picked up a few scratches and knocks over the last few years so could do with another coat of paint if your really looking for perfection.
2 doors are included in the sale but they are not perfect and have been butchered to a more light weight design.
All other glass needs to be bought but I was going to fit poly carb for weight reduction
Loads of new stuff like wiring, fuse box, fuel line but far too much to list
The car is pretty much ready for the track, Just needs the doors painted and fitted, other glass fitted. boot lid painted and fitted and a few other little jobs. Probably another weeks work and it could be at a garage for an MOT
The diff and drive work well and the engine runs great but will probably want a tune on the carbs. Brakes all work good and clutch is very soft action using the original pedal and fireblade cable. Gear change is forward 1 back 5 ect ect.
I am purely a hobbyist with a garage so don't expect a McLaren style build when you come to collect. Having said that the car is built to a good standard and id have quite happily drive the car myself but as mentioned above enjoyed building more than the though of driving
I will have probably missed somethings so will post if I spot anything else
Now to the nitty gritty of price. I know that I've spent around £8000 on the shell, engine and all other bits not to mention all the labour this little madam has received so I think a fair starting price is £5200. please let me know if I am way off the mark and Ill pop it on eBay for you all to fight over
