I really like these. Alot less effort than taking the bonnet off each time. Would you class it as a "modification" on the insurance? I'm 16 so I have to worry about these things when it comes to insuring it next year...

Sweet car by the way!

A modification? yes they are as such but i have not informed my insurers as they only open and close the bonnet and support it.

I'm thinking of getting some of these after seeing them at IMM, they look and feel really well made. A must I think if your always under the bonnet and don't have a removable one! Save a bit of back ache  >_<

I wouldn't have thought, you don't have to declare a removable bonnet? I'm not sure!

Mine fit perfect - even with the rubber insulation strips on the body. Insurance - blimey, last thing I would have thought of really.

They work really well, even the "at rest" position when not fully open is more than the standard position and they are supported with small gas struts.

I love things like this that bring the car a bit more up to date.

I'm quite conscious about things that may affect my insurance, don't ask why...

That's another thing I love, modernising the car without taking it over the top, or without just being plain useless. Think I may have to invest.

Cam.

Can you get me a picture of how close they are to your wiper blades? My bonnet hits them atm!

The sales team (Ben and Becky) at Minivation are very responsive and sound like more than willing to help via email or phone. Mine fit perfect, took a while to install but only due to my own existing modifications on the bulkhead (fuel regulator). Only fiddly bit was getting the bolt that holds the hinge onto the existing bracket on the bulkhead, but this is the same for any hinge really as you just cant see what you are doing!

Fitting instructions are online and are very easy to follow.

As requested - this is in the same position as earlier, ie fully extended. They miss the wipers through the whole movement. Pic taken from under the bonnet, well from the engine bay as there is not "under" anymore :-)
