I'm after a vintage roof rack for my mayfair 1275, but they seem about as rare as rocking horse poop! Would like something made from wood and chrome to give it that vintage look. I have trawled the tinterweb but can find nothing? Does anyone know if there is a company out there somewhere that produce these racks?

Just the luck of the draw, on what come up for sale. 

 

Basically any classic car roof rack (made form gutter mounting) will fit on the mini. 

 

I managed to find one which had been sitting on a Volvo amazon, gave it a polish and added so slats:

That looks awesome! I've seen some good ones on a vw site (justkampers), and wondered why someone isn't doing these for minis?

The VW ones will likely fit.

 

most roof racks tend to be generic and can be adjusted.

I've emailed them to ask and check dimensions. I suppose I could make them fit! I like what you've done though. Very creative and I'm sure it cost a lot less than what justkampers are charging?

They come up fairly often on ebay, but as they are bulky a lot of people put them collection only but you can get a bargain if one comes up locally.

 

I got lucky this morning and found an unused 1970's Harry Moss roof rack at a local car boot sale

My head is telling me to wait and watch until something turns up and then fit some wooden slats myself. Will have to keep looking.
