Thinking of going for the archless look on a 1990 mini, which will look best - rose petals or minilites?  Or in other words would or could the 2 cars shown below look any better with minilites?

I cant find any pics of a black mini with 4.5 x 10 minilites and i cant find a pic of a mk3 or later shell black min with rose petals.  The cars below being really rather tasty mk 1s but i dont want to go retro, i want to keep the Mk3/4 grille, boot and rear lights etc.  My car is currently black, roof as well, generally a race theme with a roll cage, harnesses, bonnet pins etc hinting at the modded motor under the bonnet.

.....as always its down to opinion.  But in my opinion, rose petals all day long!

I think they are a lovely looking wheel, but tend to fit the retro look better.  Maybe you can get somebody to do some photoshoppery in the digital mini section to get you the look you are after - make decision making that little bit easier.

Heres my bodged attempts at photoshopping rose petals and minilites without arches.  Maybe your right AndyR, rose petals go better with the retro Mk1 look, thats why i'm not 100% convinced.

Ive actually decided to stick with my 6x10 GB minilites but with some group 2 arches.  Over the weekend i took the old arches off and tried different things.  Group 2s with the chrome trim give it a mk 3 S look, the 6" wheels a purposeful stance, also saves me getting the old holes filled and resprayed.  Although i really love the archless look just doesnt quite suit my car.
