Where is the best place to put a second engine earth strap?

I have read that someone has put one from the alternator to the bonet catch.

If anyone has any pictures of this, that would be great.

thanks

James

I have one from the alternator bracket (top bracket) to the slam panel. Works just fine.

You may but I don't have much of an answer, it was just polished alloy and came on my wife's mini when she bought it. It got swapped out and I sand blasted it and painted it in black wrinkle paint, then polished the top bits.

I've not seen one like it to be honest.

Personally I'd recommend connecting to the bulkhead or suspension pillar framework above the subframes - this way you avoid any rusty/poorly welded joints between panels, and the top/back of the engine bay is less prone to the elements, connections less likely to corrode.

Thanks,

I ordered two new ones. One to replace the current one and one to put from the alterator to the slam pannel.
