Having seen most people at shows etc using the same wheels over & over I got to thinking (bad thing I know ;-) ) Are there any alternatives to the usual minilites, starmags, ultralites, revolutions etc that everyone uses? I mean there are litterally hundreds of different styles for 4 & 5 stud wheels for larger cars so why are there only a few for our beloved (& popular) mini's?

Also would having flat hubcaps like some hotrods cause any issues with brake cooling?

Like this, but without the white wall::

And finally would covering the rear wheel with a removable section cause any issues, theoretically it would be more aerodynamic (like the rear wheels below)

The flat hub caps are called moon discs iirc.

Cool!, I'm not a massive fan, but Wheeler dealers put them on a VW van.

It's just something different than most cars. I'm sure they're like Marmite to most people but they certainly would be attention grabbing at shows etc.

I know this is the wrong kind of mini but...

This is just about to run at the Bonneville Speed Week

It's been built by some guys in New Zealand who are hoping to go 150mph!

But they haven't even deseamed it! That takes a huge amount of frontal area off the car. They also say they have 'more than 250bhp' & they're in the 1000cc or less class!!!! Holy crap! I'd like to see the engine spec sheet on that.
