Ok here goes ive recently bought a mini city E 1985!

The car had a full length dash which had been removed before sale, leaving just a centre speedo. The old dash had a temp and oil pressure guage. However I cannot find wear the wires too these were did mini city Es have these originally?

I have bought a centre barnacle with the temp and oil pressure smiths guages but am at a loss as to wear they wired in! The speedo plus into a socked with a screw on speedo cable!

Anyway on a serious note... :P

Track back the loom that is wired into the back of the speedo in currently and you should find the right wires which are in the link above, you'll just need to fit some spades into the end and connect the correct one to the temperature gauge and one from the temp gauge to the voltage stabiliser.

The oil pressure gauge works mechanically, it takes a source from the front left of the block and then bolts into the back of the gauge. Have a look to see what is in there atm, i hope for your sake its been plugged somehow or there will be oil spraying out of somewhere :P

Hope that's helped :)

Thanks for the helP!

I checked the oil guage and yes its mechanical cant beleive I hadnt noticed! I take it the pipe to the oil guage comes off by the oil pressure switch?

The temperature sensor also I bresume fits in the head where a blank is fitted currently near the thermostat on the passenger side of the engine!

The wires in the back of the guages, are they to do with the lights? Also where can you buy the bulbs and holders for the lights for the guages?

Chears for your help!
