Plans are to fit some seatbelts so I can take my daughter out in it (any recommendations?) and maybe some more supportive high back bucket seats if I can find something that won't spoil the look.

Nice Mini!

Browsing around the VW Beetle/Campervan show at Sandown Park last year I saw these brand new classic period seat belts (see link below) on sale with aircraft style pull-up to release chrome buckles to BSI standards (they are listed as only MOT legal on pre-1972 cars as they are not E-marked).
They are available in 3 point, 2 point, static and inertia in grey, black and several other colours from the VW Heritage Parts Centre and other VW Beetle suppliers.
They can add VW logos/badges if required...............but these could easily be substituted for BMC badges, etc.
These look much more period style than the modern push-in black plastic buckle seatbelts like Securon, etc. and fit pre-1972 Mini's. Don't know why no one is selling something similar in the classic Mini restoration world?

Those look ideal, will try and get some at the show this sunday and maybe speak to the VW people to see if they'll fit.

Thanks Carlien! Looks like you've got a clean shell there. By the looks of that pic there are 3 mounting points for each side, one in the B-pillar, one in the sill and one on the exhaust tunnel for the buckle - am I right?

A MK1 should be Old English white, Snowberry is a MK2 colour, O.E.W will be 'creamy', S.W will have a hint of green to it >_<
