has anyone out in mini land got info on how these minis were built.
i have seen a few photos from the outside and you can see the car is low, what i want to know is how did he lower the front by the large amount he did.

I owned the maguire that was featured in miniworld many moons ago, i thnk it was 96? Ive got some photos of it, the subframe was heavily modified to cut down the towers to lower the COG and raise the engine up hence the hig bonet
Im currently building a semi spaceframe maguire which im unfortunately going to have to sell to und buying a flat, if you want any photos I will try and dig them out!

TDK racing currently have the moulds to make a maguire including the spaceframes!

The rules allowed the shell to be modified below the wheel centres. So when TS made the frame, the base of the frame was in line with the sill flange under the door. the subframe towers were cut down and the bolted onto the frame, at the wrong angle by the way. The towers didn't matter or cutting them down lowering the overall hieght, it was just a way of tucking in the coil spring dampers. So basically looking inside a standard mini, the floor was at the height of the top of the seat cross member.

If the Maguire mini you looked at a few years ago was in the Reading area, I suspect it was the one I looked at on Ebay and it wasn't a Maguire mini

Thanks for all the info, I have been following the K conversion over on 16V, intresting photos it was the subframe and steering rack that was giving me a headache! The R1 that i am building at the moment wants a very low front and i wanted to keep as much suspension movement as possible

Was just about to say Gaz owns a semi-spaced framed one, but he's beat me to it!
When are you thinking of selling it Gaz?
