Hi all,

I'm liking the look of some retro wing mirrors but have no idea if they are any good to actually use.

Has anyone got them on the wing and any experiences of different types - bullets / Lucas style etc ?

Same as Puresmartie, they are nowhere as good as door mirrors, but I did have a spell with just an interior mirror, and that was worse. They do help....a bit

However.......(trying to sound posh) Wing mirrors aren't seen on modern cars as they are all door mirrors now, so wing mirrors will make you stand out from the crowd. And secondly, the price of one door mirror is about the same as a pair of wing mirrors

My 68 mini has "proper" wing mirrors on and once you get used to looking down the bonnet into them and not turning your head to the door mirror that aint there, they are great, Maybe it's my age but all my first few cars had "wing" mirrors.

Here are the ones I've got:

How nice are they! ;) The Mini is really nice. I have got a picture of these mirrors, I saw a Mini on the local tesco and it's got them on. I will put it on my photobucket in a min and upload. :genius:

I have bullet mirrors ...

to be honest - I think they're quite good. I hear people saying that they're not big enough, but I've never had any problems with them!

The only thing is that the glass fits inside the housing with a plastic circular, er, thing ... So you have to make sure it's all seated together correctly - If it's a bit loose, the mirror will wobble!!

I forgot to use the fitting kit when I fitted mine ... ;D So I ended up taking them off and putting my white mirrors back on :)
They aren't the best for visibilty.. but if you want your Mini to look nice then these are mirrors to have!!

I have the original ones on my traveller but only bought recently and just got mot so only drove it once. They seem like they would be just the same to drive with. The passenger side was set up correct but my drivers one wasn't so the only bad thing is you need to make sure they are adjusted correctly before you drive off or you will have to pull over and get out to sort it.

Sorry for the bump, but I am looking for ideas as well! I am not a huge fan of the large mirrors and would like something a bit sporty. I might think about bullets myself.
