Me and a friend have spotted a languishing Nomad and would like to know more about what they are, who they were made by and anything else really. A nose around revealed it was very Mini based, with a large back with a bench seat going lengthways in the back like a land rover, and it has a Defender 90 roof on it. If anyone knows anything about these quirky little things then please share it!
Cheers,
Ben.

I'm re-building mine at the moment.
<Nomad anorak on>
There were very few made by a company in Rotherham called Foers Engineering. They went out of business in the 90s (from memory). They also made a land rover type kit car too (the name of which escapes me at the moment). There were 3 body types produced. They're made from steel box section and aluminium sheet. (A bit like the Scamps).
They're completely mini-based, far from quirky, very square and as ugly as sin!

Where is this one? Have you got any more info about it?
