Hello everyone.
Let me start by saying that I'm really enjoying this forum, good posts, and great to see individual ideas on "their" ideal Mini.
At 44, I have just bought my very first Mini, a 1993 K Reg Mini Cooper SPI.
It does require finishing. Hopefully not too much.
Now to the fun.
The air filter housing that came with it does look correct as per other pictures here, and it also says injection on top case, but it is missing anything on the underside, i.e. the intake air temperature sensor, and also the thermac valve.
The wiring loom does have the "GREEN" plug for temp sensor, so presume its the wrong filter housing.
Secondly, There is a tapped hole in the manifold, I think its for the SERVO unit vacuum hose, I believe this is connected via a banjo bolt (Haynes), but where does it go to? I don't have any pipes left in the spares box, so don't even know what it looks like.
Finally, is there anyone who can take and send me ([email protected]) close up photographs of the manifold and its connections, and the vacuum connections, and anything else under the bonnet you think I may need as I'm getting lost already.
Thank you

on the underside of the airfilter box there should be a brass thread that the air temp sendor screws into yes it is green sendor and plug. yes there should be a thermac valve inside the air box with 2 push on fittings on the underside of the air box held in with a metal clip, with a pipe going from the hot air intake valve to the thermac valve then to the throtal body.
the servo hose has a banjo bolt with 2 copper washers it is a hard plastic tube with a valve inline.
see photo of my carb converted spi below still using the same spi pipe should look like this.

Thanks, nice clean bay.
I have located the sevo pipe, it has the valve, but is a lot longer, and has an upward facing plastic connector at the other end, it looks like it would connect to the underneath of the filter housing on the right hand side somewhere, but I know that would be wrong.
I don't know if this is an original pipe, there oes seem quite a few anomalies.
I have just positioned the filter housing that came with it over the injector assembly, and it is definitly the wrong one, there's about a 1.5 inch difference in diameters.
Any chance you could show where the vacuum pipes start and end.
thanks again

thanks but the photo makes it looks better it 96 spi converted to carb.
the car has done 170,000 miles (that engine nearly 60,000)
I clean it with autogleam engine cleaner and a jet wash its great stuff esp on plastics(be warned when it was spi cleaning it, filled up the dizzy up with water, not good when i was cleaning it at bp garage)
The servo pipe goes from the inlet manifold (banjo nut) over the top of the brake master cylinder (like my photo) then the plastic bit goes into a rubber grommet on the front of the servo under the master cylinder.
long time since mine was spi but what i remember of the vacuum is.
and i'm not that great at explaining
there is 4 vacuum pipes
2 vacuum pipe fittings on the back of the injection throtal body
one vacuum pipe about 25cm long that goes from the top hot air flap valve on the air filter in take pipe (black plastic bit that comes out of the air filter box to the front of the car) around under the air filter box to the thermac valve.
second pipe (about 20cm long) comes from the thermac valve to one of the fittings on the back of the throtal body.
the other throtal body fitting has a 6cm pipe that goes to a vapor box (small black plastic box with 2 pipe fittings that clips to a metal bracket on the back of the throtal body it is needed to protect the ECU MAP sensor).
then a long vacuum pipe some 40cm that goes from the vapor box to the ECU.

Thanks again. I need to get some new pipes and will try ASAP.
I have the wrong air filter housing, you didn't happen to keep yours when changing to carb? and more importantly want to sell it?
Thanks

hello
help would be greatly appreciated.
The inline fuses, the input wire is a different colour to the output. can you tell me which goes to which.
Thanks
PS, if its OK, would it be OK to mail you again, I'm probably going to have a few teething problems
