Hello all. Could you confirm/deny that these:

will fit straight on to a 1991 Rover Cooper?
Also, does anyone have suggestions for other good quality (not bullet type) retro mirrors that fit without difficulty? Thanks

Yep, they're the same as ours as well, they fit fine, you just have to drill out the existing holes a bit (assuming you have standard black plastic mirrors) and rivet them. Well thats what we did anyway.

If you have a bit more dollar to spare I would go for stainless steel, rather than chrome. I had the chrome tex ones and they pit so quickly! I beleive that the stainless ones fit into the original holes aswell.

You need an adaptor plinth, the plinth screws to the original holes and the mirror screws to the plinth. They are available from most Mini specialists pretty cheaply.
Another classic example of an E-bay rip off. A pair of chrome mirrors for £3.00 less than Mini Spares will charge for a stainless pair and that's before your TMF+ discount is applied, hardly a bargain is it? Chrome Tex mirrors should be far cheaper than that considering they don't make them in chrome any more, these are pretty old stock.
Errm, well I suppose it would hold them to the car at least...

Solid as a rock they are, they're not going anywhere even if you grab then and try to move them around... you dont rivet the mirrors to the car, you put rivets in the holes and screw the mirrors to the rivets..you just have to drill out the existing holes a bit (assuming you have standard black plastic mirrors) and rivet them
